Plas Madoc Leisure Centre re-opened in 2014 under community management. They are now run by the Splash Community Trust which is a not-for-profit social enterprise. Plas Madoc provides vital services to the local community housing a swimming pool, sports centre, gym and café.
Plas Madoc was seeking a reputable local company to undertake part of an ongoing project which included the installation of the solar system. Funded by Levelling Up Funding, a government scheme which is encouraging economic growth and community support in Wales.
Rawson Solar installed a 134kWp solar panel system onto the roof Plas Madoc Leisure Centre. The system consists of 318 x 410W tier 1 solar panels along with multiple inverters. An inverter's purpose is to convert the DC energy generated by the solar system into usable AC power.
This Solar panel installation generates 111,523kWh of electricity for the community-run leisure centre. While offsetting 24,000kg of CO2 each year.
