NSW Australia has a few wine regions, maybe not as well known as South Australia with the Barossa, but it does exists! The Hunter Valley is probably the most popular but there is also Mudgee and Orange that are probably quite close. Orange is a regional city and its a lot bigger than Mudgee and has high altitude wine that grows in snow in the winter with Mount Canobolas. We visited over the long weekend after Easter, and while quite a few of the restaurants were closed like Birdie that we had on our list we still found some amazing eats - orange has its own food scene and even has a few events on like food week. Autumn is when Orange is it’s most beautiful and we loved strolling around the federation homes, cook park with all the autumn leaves falling around us. We also went to a few wineries, Swinging Bridge, Ross Hill and De Salis which was a absolute gem with Pino Noir and Sparking wines that we adored. Our little son Thomas got over the wineries pretty quickly but had fun exploring the vineyards and playing with the owners dog.
