Rajnath Singh is the current Defence Minister of India and is one of the senior political leaders in the country. He started his political career as a student activist with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and went on to become the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) National President. He served as the BJP’s National President twice, first from 2005 - 2009 and then from 2013 – 2014. He has held various posts throughout his political career. From 2014-2019, he was India’s Home Minister. Prior to that, he also served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
