Are you looking for tips for finding a real estate agent that works for your situation?
I'm asking because it's about to get 100x worse for those who hire agents who don't do much business.
Also, I'm not talking about years of experience. I'm talking about experience right now in today's market.
I believe that 60% of agents will get out of the business. That sounds like an insane number, and it is. The scary part is that 50% of agents in the country sell zero to one home per year. Zero to one. This means that if you hire your agent without doing homework, you have a 50% chance of hiring an agent with no experience in today's market.
It has always surprised me how most people pick which real estate agent they're going to hire. Frankly, I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that most people don't look at it as 'hiring' an agent. I've heard all kinds of stories about people hiring their friend or family member because they feel obligated, not realizing that a simple decision like that can cost a ton of money.
There is a simple reason why I say things are going to get worse for agents who don't do much business. The way things are done is changing.
Nearly every form that has to do with buying or selling real estate is changing.
The process for agents negotiating their service and commission is changing.
Every offer on every property will have new terms that nobody's ever seen before
Change is good. This change is going to be great for you, the consumer. But only if you are smart about who you hire.
When all these changes are finalized, I'll make sure to share all the new information with you.
