Let's discuss if the Light Gauss Rifle in MWO is worth pickung up. For this purpose I crafted a Katapult CPLT-K2 build with 2 L-Gauss and 4 ER Medium Lasers for you.

While the Light Gauss is not dealing as much damage as its bigger counterparts it does have a higher range and (more importantly) a higher rate of fiire. But is this enough to make up for the lack of direct pinpoint damage? I am on the fence here. You can get an AC10 for the same weight with the same amount of ammo per ton but get more damage, a lower cooldown and the direct fire capability.

What do you think? Is the Light Gauss Rifle worth picking up? Is it a niche weapon or will it show up in future Meta builds?
