Royal College of Art graduates Paul Mendieta and Beren Kayalı have designed a transportable inflatable water tank called Deploy that has been donated to help the vulnerable communities in Turkey devastated by the recent earthquake.
The Deploy tank is a 256-kilogram structure that can be assembled, inflated and ready to be used within 48 hours. It has an expected lifespan of 20 years and can hold 14,000 litres of water.
The Deploy water storage tank is made from a patented material Concrete Canvas, which has previously been used to cover disaster-relief shelters.
Mendieta and Kayalı designed Deploy as a more affordable and sustainable water storage infrastructure that has been designed for easy transportation and maintenance.
