I've loved this song since I first heard it. My Wish is one of Rascal Flatts most popular singles by far during their 20 year run of making great music. I dig positive words of encouragement and anything that uplifts people in a mad world. But I'm not the only one who feels that way about the guys. I have a client/student named Jenny whom is such a fan of theirs that she asked me years ago to call her Gary, and if she could call me Jay because she loves them so much and has always wanted to sing like them. So I do! I call her Gary and she calls me Jay. Haha. And as for her wanting to sing like Gary.... I'm JUST THE GUY to help her do that! We've become lifelong friends over the years and in celebration of this song perhaps being my last flatts song she wanted to say hello to the Flatts when they read this. She's had meet and greets with you all and taken pictures with you guys over the years. So she sends her love as well.

As for me, I've had this song drilled into my head so clearly for so many years that it would be difficult to sing any other way. Especially considering this is the actual track bed of music Gary sang to. They released their original stereo two tracks....or “minus 1” Tracks they call em....TV mix etc. Call it what you will but it's the same music just without the lead vocal. But it's all legit professional. It has Jay and Joe Don singing harmonies in there, and that's cool. Anyway...I knew I had to sing it. Would have been cool to sing 'What hurts the most” to their original tracks when I sang it back in the day. Anyway, I'm still working on perfecting my new system cause my voice just sounds different to me on the new mics. Even after all of this time. Funny how you just get used to a certain sound.
