This is a little different, as the only "game" on the screen is completely made up. It's just CGI computer generated sequences made into what looks like a game.

But the IMPACT of this movie was big on video gamers like myself. Every one of us kids in 1984 dreamed about the things that happened in this movie:
1) Being admired and celebrated for getting a high score. The game even proudly claims "Record Breaker" - it was pretty cool.
2) Your gamer skills directly translating into an even bigger benefit - saving the world. (or something even on a smaller scale)

CGI is dated now, but the movie will always be part of my childhood. Maybe for you as well.
