Have you ever wondered why the Flag of South Carolina looks like the flag of Turkey and many other Islamic Nations? At first glance it may seem like a meaningless coincidence but what if I told you that this is merely the tip of an iceberg regarding the hidden Turkish history of America. Did you know that a sizable population of darker-skinned Turkish people have resided in South Carolina for hundreds of years, whose origin is both mysterious and controversial? In 2014 the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, shocked the world by openly asserting that it was Muslims who had discovered the Americas, centuries before Columbus. It just so happens that one of the oldest maps to ever depict the American Southeast, was produced by a Turkish Admiral, inscribed in the Turkish language. Other early maps depict Turkish or Ottoman Flags across the American Southeast. And since we’re on the subject, have you ever given much thought to how the Turkey, a bird native to the Americas, got its name? The same goes for Corn, Pumpkin and Tobacco which for some reason many Europeans long assumed were Turkish in origin. Most Americans are taught that before the doomed English Roanoke Colony disappeared without a trace on the Carolina Coast in 1590, it had been previously relieved in 1586 by Francis Drake the famed English Admiral, but rarely is it mentioned that Drake had brought over 200 Turks and Moorish Muslims with him. We also need remember that Charleston was the primary port of entry for Africans sold into slavery, 10-15% of whom were practicing Muslims, thus making South Carolina the cradle of American Islam. As far as the sunshine state is concerned, many people forget that South Carolina, along with the entire Southeast United States, was once known as La Florida. New Smyrna Beach, Florida, believed by some to be the oldest city in the United States, happens to be named for a Turkish City. Some of Florida’s most historic buildings are even designed in the Turkish Architectural Style. Could these have been the inspiration for the map printed by LIFE Magazine in 1916 depicting what America would look like if the Central Powers were to win the First World War, with Florida allotted to Turkey? In this video, we will prove without a shadow of doubt, that there has been a Turkish or Ottoman presence in the Americas all along; one that has largely been swept under the rug. This presentation is dedicated to the land of four seasons, Old Byzantium, and the vicinity which Noah is said to have landed the Ark.
