We had an amazing day at Alleppey Backwaters.. with its mesmerising view we enjoyed a beautiful Shikara Ride in the Sunrise... 🌄❤️
Shikara Tour services are organised by the resort also and it can be booked online also.
For us, Paloma Backwater Resort booked the Shikara and it costed Rs. 800/- per couple and it was a private Shikara Ride at that time for us.. but this mostly depends on crowd!
A usual shikara seats six people, with the driver paddling at the rear.
Like the Venetian gondolas, they are a cultural symbol of Kashmir.
Some shikaras are still used for fishing, harvesting aquatic vegetation (usually for fodder), and transport, while most are covered with tarpaulins and are used by tourists...
