When you use your VMware Workstation virtual machines and do things such as add and delete files, install and uninstall software etc., you won't get all of your hard drive space back on your host computer. In order to reclaim this free space, you will need to perform a disk cleanup on the VM itself. This is kind of like compressing a database file to get the "white space" back and you can actually reclaim quite a bit of space using this method.
