The marble quarries of the mountain Fantiscritti (Cava Fantiscritti) are some of the famous stone sources for the artists and sculptors not only in Carrara, but all over the world. The quarries provide the noble statuario marble of highest quality, loved already in ancient times by the renaissance sculptors in the near area of Tuscany and Florence. Nowadays it is possible for visitors to attend guided tours into the mountains and to the top of the mountains. There are tours provided by offload vehicles directly to the production areas. Many artists and marble studios are located near the quarries, so it is possible to see also some of the art pieces made from the material from the quarries.
