As September has begun, schools will start soon, which means there will be a reduction of videos as I return to education. I haven't gotten my timetable yet, but I assume I start next week, so for the rest of this week I will be preparing to go back, as well as going out to do some observations on the school extras that will be running throughout London for this half term (I probably won't be allowed on those buses so don't expect any journeys, just observations). Anyway, I hope you understand if I don't upload that much for a while.
Anyway, throughout the weekend, the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) was closed between Poplar and Stratford station due to planned engineering works, however there were no rail replacement buses running, so extra buses from Blue Triangle's River Road (RR) garage and Docklands Buses' Silvertown (SI) garage were placed onto London Central route 108, running between North Greenwich and Stratford City bus stations only. Here is SOE27, an Optare Esteem bodied Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 from RR, usually found on routes 346 and 364.
As the title suggests, when going through the Blackwall Tunnel at 6:00, the driver forgot to turn on the interior lights, leaving the bus completely dark lmao. Also, sorry for the quality drop in this section, I don't know why my phone did that. Anyway, enjoy!
London bus route 108 is operated by London Central under Go-Ahead London, operating out of Morden Wharf (MG) and New Cross (NX) garages. At MG, route 108 is allocated with Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro's (MEC) originally delivered for Waterloo (RA) routes 507 and 521 back in 2009. However, these may get replaced by newer 2015 MEC's from Orpington (MB) route 358 in a few weeks, but only if the brand new electrics for the 358 arrive in time. At NX, route 108 is allocated with Irizar i2e EV's (EI), with Alexander Dennis Enviro400H MMCs (EH) and Volvo B9TL Wright Eclipse Gemini 2's (WVL) appearing at night when it uses double deckers between Lewisham and North Greenwich only during the night.
