New Delhi, Aug 07 (ANI): Afghanistan said there was a need to act more prudently to achieve energy security, highlighting its shortfall in generating electricity. At present, Afghanistan imports power from neighbouring nations to fulfill the power consumption of its nation. Addressing India-Afghanistan Renewable Energy Summit in New Delhi, Afghan minister for energy and water, Ali Ahmad Osmani called for greater use of renewable sources of energy to fuel industry. In a bid to strengthen ties between the two countries, Osmani suggested that Salma Dam in Afghanistan be renamed to 'Afghan-India Friendship Dam'. A 40-member business delegation led by Osmani and Rural, Rehabilitation and Development Minister Engineer Nasir Ahmad Durrani is in India for the summit. Durrani said that lack of electricity still remained one of the biggest challenges for Afghanistan.
