With ASEAN emerging as China's top trading partner this year (2020), Senior Minister of State for Health Koh Poh Koon said it's timely for both sides to ensure that the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area remains fit post-COVID-19. Speaking at the sidelines of the FutureChina Global Forum, he said existing trade agreements are designed for traditional trade and are not suited for digital transactions. He urged for greater cooperation among like-minded countries to better align with modern business realities and reduce barriers to trade.
