Tired of your stock stairs? Well, Torklift has a great alternative - stay tuned to find out why.

Torklift graciously reached out to me last fall to ask if I would like to try one of their step systems, so let’s take a closer look.

It came in a humongous box that had the Fedex man sweating as he beefed it up the long driveway and plopped it down in the garage. But RV steps are large, so let’s take a look at exactly what we’ve got here.

And, wow, these steps are, well, “robust”.

The installation is a bit easier with two people. We’re just going to unbolt the old steps. And then we’ll heft this thing up and bolt it in.

But what we’re noticing is that there will be a gap here. The directions note that if this happens, we should order the additional spacer kit. One quick message and Torklift sent that along right away as well.

And this is a serious spacer kit. Their spacers even have this two-sided tape to help stick them onto the step assembly to make installation a whole lot easier. We’ll just use some of these extended bolts from the kit to line up the spacers for installation.

Next we’ll ask the assistance of Bigfoot Mom again to heft this thing up so we can align in and bolt it in.

The old steps were a bit sprongy with no adjustment, but these new ones are engineered for strength and versatility with many different adjustment options. I can already tell these things are way, way more stout than the old steps.

So with a name like Glow Step Revolution, let’s put it to the test in the dark.

Ah, yeeees, they do indeed glow! What a nifty safety feature!
