A walk though the Ballenberg Open-Air Musuem, or what we in the US would call a historic farm. There are 109 houses transported from around Switzerland to this outdoor museum, the oldest being from the year 1336. All the houses and buildings are open to the public, you can walk into all the rooms, and learn about the trades people worked in. There are 165 employees doing demonstrations on everything from making cheese, making rope, weaving fabric, hat making, operating a saw mill, making saddles, and even a blacksmith. A perfect Swiss way to spend a day, walking through lush forests, beautiful gardens, cow pastures, and beautiful historic homes. This is truly one of the best museums in Europe!
