Ueno Park is one of the five oldest public parks in Japan.

The park is most famous for its Ueno Zoo, its many museums, and its spectacular cherry blossoms in spring.

The park opened to the public in 1873 with the official name Ueno Onshi-Koen, meaning "Ueno Imperial Grace Park".
