In this video I talk about why you should not have your minor child as a beneficiary on your life insurance policy. Minor children cannot inherit any money so legally the money cannot be left to them. However, there are ways around this. You can list another trusted adult as your beneficiary so the money can be left to them, or you can make a family trust the beneficiary of your policy and the trustee will take care of your child with the funds in the trust.
