Germany's national football team boarded a bus headed for the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna on Sunday afternoon where they faced Spain in the final of the Euro 2008.
German fans lined the streets cheering and waving flags as the team boarded the bus then drove by.
Though confidence in the team was high ahead of the match at Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna, there was concern about the fitness of Michael Ballack.
But Germany captain Michael Ballack passed a late fitness test Sunday and was in Germany's starting lineup for the European Championship final against Spain.
Ballack had been nursing a right-calf injury since Friday and missed the team's final two practice sessions ahead of the final.
The decision on whether he could play apparently was made shortly before the kickoff.
The captain missed Germany's last training session Saturday because of a calf injury, but he was confirmed as part of the initial lineup on Sunday.
Fans were expected to gather in homes, public viewing areas and in restaurants and bars to watch the game.
The match is expected to draw more than the 30 million viewers who watched Germany beat Turkey earlier this week in the semifinals on television.
