Space Industry Association of Australia CEO James Brown says the development of a Space Command division in Australia has been a “long time coming”.
The Royal Australian Air Force has begun operations on a new Space Command division to support sovereign-controlled satellite communications and space domain awareness.
“Defence is thinking about this the right way,” Mr Brown told Sky News Australia.
“There’s no shortage of threats and people are actively rehearsing what war in space might look like at the moment.”
