In today’s episode I talk about three benefits of investing in the API 500 series Ecosystem. They are flexibility, portability, and resalability. I happen to think that Investing in an API system in your studio is one of the best investments you can make. Notice I keep saying investment. That is because as a professional you want the best tools for the job. Also, you want to make sure that you’re investing in quality. API, an American company, makes some of the best consoles, eq, preamp and dynamics modules. The chassis for their 500 series system gives it’s owner the ultimate in flexibility. If you want a guitar processor that no one has, then fill your chassis with the dynamics, equalization, and preampfification of your desire. Moreover, with the availability of modules by companies like NEVE, DBX, A-Designs, Warm Audio, and others you can design the perfect summing mixer. Also, the portability of the chassis affords you the option of moving the system in and out of your studio with ease. When I talk to most people about getting in and what the trepidation might be, cost is the primary concern. However, once you absorb the initial cost of the chassis the system almost immediately pays dividends in sound, quality and re-salability. Now, most of us don’t like talking about the falling on hard times but when you are a musician life happens. In the unfortunate circumstance where you find you must sell either the chassis or modules, you can be sure that the 500 series system will retain it’s value. Hope that never happens but life has a way of throwing us curve balls at times. Our job is to be prepared. In summation, the 500 series system is an investment you will not regret. Stop dipping your toe in the water and jump headlong;-) Thanks for watching
The current Rhythm Studio Setup:

DAW 2: (Sketch Station) Logic Express 8 YES! on a Mac G5 still sounds amazing. I will be upgrading to Logic Pro X eventually
DAW 3: (Recording Station) Pro Tools HD8 WHY? It’s fully paid for. 44.1K and 48K are the same on any HD system.
