An Addiction Counseling Technician is someone who conducts individual therapy, provides emotional support and sets achievable goals for those suffering from substance abuse. They represent an extremely important role in the recovery process from alcohol and drug abuse and develop close ties with their patients as they navigate the various stages of addiction. Addiction Counseling Technicians are often called simply Addiction Counselors or Substance Abuse Counselors.
