On the night of December 2.1984, an explosion at a chemical plant caused the death of thousands of people in northern India. 30 years on, the groundwater remains contaminated around the plant in Bhopal. Since the accident, one of the worst industrial disasters in history, the infant mortality rate has risen and many inhabitants suffer from anaemia, skin diseases and even cancer.
