In the very centre of the city of Cuenca, stands this remarkable cathedral, the Cathedral of the Immacualte Conception (Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepción). Construction works started in 1885 and lasted for almost a century. The skyline of its domes has become a symbol for the city, despite the truncation of its towers due to a calculation error of the architect.
