At the recent Southern Blacksmithing Association Conference, I bought a BLU 150lb euro style anvil (double horns) with side shelf and upsetting block. Here I remove my great great grandfather's 147lb Armitage anvil so I can properly mount the new anvil. Once properly mounted, I can start using to for my various forging projects. To hold in place on the stand, I route out the anvil's footprint down to 1/2 inches. This is sufficient to secure the anvil to the stand.
