After a discussion about race and reconciliation, Xavier felt compelled to pray for the people around him. Immediately following his prayer, an older gentleman approached him. The man shared with Xavier that his childhood church used to preach that "black people had no souls," and that though he fought it, he always struggled with the influence this had on him. He wondered if Xavier could pray for him.
I'm incredibly shocked by this story, but even more so by Xavier's reaction to boldly pray for the man who spoke of the unwelcomed racism remaining in his heart.
