The August Complex has officially burned over one million acres. This is the largest wildfire in the history of California and has burned more acreage than what we typically see in an entire wildfire season. Unfortunately, dry air remains in the area, which will lead to continued growth over the next few days. While the Glass Fire has significantly calmed down, its acreage burned is now over 67,000 acres. Additionally, the Creek Fire is up to 326,000, and the North Complex is up to 319,000. Surprisingly, the Bobcat Fire began to flare up again over the weekend, burning an additional 2,000 acres bringing the total for that fire to 116,000. With all that being said, there is some good news in the forecast for all our fires as temperatures and winds significantly calm down, and the possibility of a rain event has appeared for later this week.
Stay tuned for further information on that rain event, and our wildfires in general.
I recognize this is a long video, but I wanted to include as much information as I possibly could.
