The 27th UN Climate Change committee is all set to convene in Egypt on the 6th of November. At the previous meeting in Glasgow, countries promised to revisit and strengethen their national climate plans to curb emissions and keep global warming in check. But one year later, assessments suggest countries have not done enough. India is setting its agenda ahead of the conference- it wants developed countries to commit climate financing to developing countries. The West is widely believed to be responsible for global warming since the beginning of the industrial revolution, so it is naturally expected to provide financing and technology to developing countries to sustain economic goals in their countries. This is especially crucial at a time when energy prices due to the Russia Ukraine war have hampered smaller economies from fulfilling their committment to transition to cleaner energy. Climate change is a serious issue... It can change wind and rain patterns, threaten food security and cause unimaginable catastrophes like the one we are seeing in Delhi. Delhi is choking, and climate change has had an impact on its citizens. So, Will India take a strong stand at the conference. I have --- to discuss this with me.
