Keiran Campbell, cellist, grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he began studying the cello at age 8. He received his undergraduate degree from Juilliard with Darrett Adkins, and recently received a master's degree at Juilliard, where he studied with Phoebe Carrai and Timothy Eddy.
Keiran has appeared as a soloist with Juilliard415, North State Chamber Orchestra, the Mallarme Chamber Orchestra, and the Durham Symphony. As a chamber musician, Keiran has performed and collaborated with members of the Cleveland and Juilliard quartets, and he has performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center, playing with klezmer clarinetist David Krakauer. Keiran recently performed in recitals at the Metropolitan Art Museum and Neue Galerie in New York, and regularly performs at Carnegie Hall as a member of the contemporary music group Aeon Ensemble. As a baroque cellist, Keiran performs with groups including Tafelmusik in Toronto, Canada, and as principal and section cello with Mercury Orchestra in Houston, Texas. He is a founding member of the period performance chamber group ‘Voyage Sonique,’ which is based in New York.
Keiran has attended The Berwick Academy Festival, Perlman Chamber Workshop, Sarasota Music Festival, and Kneisel Hall. He has worked closely with Steven Isserlis and Ralph Kirshbaum in masterclasses at IMS Prussia Cove, with Frans Helmerson through multiple lessons and masterclasses at Juilliard, and with David Geringas at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Italy. Keiran teaches privately in New York City, and is both an English Concert and Mercury Orchestra fellow for 2017-2018. Upcoming performances include concerts with Teatro Nuovo at the Caramoor festival during the summer of 2018, and concerto appearances with Philharmonia Baroque in San Francisco in November 2018.
