From Borgen to Wallander, Nordic Noir, or Scandinavian Crime Fiction, has been popular since the 1990s. First with books and now with adaptations into film and TV. And one of the most popular series out of Iceland - Dark Iceland by Ragnar Jonasson - took me to the furthest town on mainland Iceland a few years ago. And it's now where I hope to call home one day. I knew I wasn't alone in my connection to Nordic Noir, so I wanted to understand why. Why was Nordic Noir was popular? And why was I obsessed with it so much? Several Scandic/Nordic crime writer helped me find the answer!
