While hazelnut growers have been dealing with higher input costs and less than ideal nut prices, they cannot afford to cut costs on their pest monitoring and management practices. An invasive pest, known as brown marmorated stink bug has taken a particular fondness of hazelnuts and is spreading across most of the major hazelnut growing regions of Oregon.
