This Atlantic Laser Scanning Services Tutorial Illustrates the workflow of using point cloud data from a FARO Focus 3D laser scanner, and importing it into FARO SCENE Software. The video shows how the data can be combined or registered properly using auto registration techniques in SCENE Software. This targetless registration method is called Top Down and Cloud to Cloud registration. Once the separate scans are combined into a single project, a project point cloud is created, allowing the user to create clip boxes to more accurately see smaller portions of the building scan project. Finally, the video explains how to export the point cloud data using AutoCAD Recap, into RCP RCS files that can be use in other software platforms such as AutoCAD, and Revit.
