Crosswind take-offs, require the correct wind correction, in order to prevent a possible disaster. When a wind gust drops you back onto the water, and the floats are not aligned with the direction of flight, a water-loop (cartwheel) will happen, and with possible disastrous outcome) . So to prevent this scenario, the airplane needs to be kept aligned with the direction of flight, and NOT crabbed, until it is well clear of the water.
