9th Future Fabrics Expo Seminar Series in partnership with Parley TV:
Clare Press, VOGUE Australia’s Sustainability Editor, and presenter of The Wardrobe Crisis Podcast, moderated this panel which put the spotlight on embedding innovation in the fashion supply chain. Featured panelists included Christine Goulay, Sustainable Innovation Senior Manager at Kering Group, Emma Scarf, Ventures Analyst at Fashion for Good, Dian-Jen Lin, Co-Founder of Post Carbon Lab, and Sophia Scott, from Groundtruth as well as documentary film maker. The panel discussion called for sensible consumption habits which must be fueled a sustainable supply chain. Scarf said that, “You need those market leaders and risk takers to really come into the industry, and we are seeing that a lot now, that consumers are demanding sustainable fashion, the brands are on board, policy makers are finally aligned. But it does take a lot of capital, especially in the case of new materials, to get from the research and development stage all the way to be market scalable.”
