This place opened in 1989 as Swiss Grand Hotel under the management of Swissôtel, and rebranded to its current name in the early 2000's when the initial management contract expired. Today, the hotel is no longer run by Hilton, and only borrows the brand and rewards program from the hotel company. Though it uses the same brand as Millennium Seoul Hilton, they are owned by different entities. Other than the 13-story main building, the hotel grounds also include a convention centre and a separate serviced apartments building.
This video features the bank of five guest elevators in the main building, numbered as cars No. P1 through P5, respectively. They were either modernized or replaced once in 1997, and completely replaced by current Mitsubishi's gearless traction models in 2014. Among them, car No. P5 was scenic (with a view of the hotel's three-floor atrium lobby and the mountain at the back of the hotel compound), on a separate controller and much slower than the other four, non-scenic cars. The hall station buttons were barrel-shaped ones released in early 2000's; among the car station buttons, those for floor selection were custom touch sensitive, while those for door control and alarm were black plastic buttons common in mid- to late-1990's installations. The cab walls were finished with cream-colored marble and dark brown wood, while the floors were covered with black stone tiles.
The ride quality was excellent; the non-scenic ones ran quite fast, while the scenic elevator (not featured in the video) was too slow for 13 floors. The fourth floor was completely absent from the floor numbering system. Floor PH was being served only by cars No. P1, P3 and P5, and floor 3 by solely car No. P3; the third floor seemed to contain offices considering the floor layouts in other hotel buildings, though the purpose of PH could not be figured out. The elevators did not seem to have a voice announcement programmed for PH, as the chime simply sounded twice instead upon arrival on that floor.
