JUNE 15, 2013—Beng Mealea is located approximately 40 kms east of the main group of temples at Angkor, Cambodia. Largely unrestored, with thick brush thriving amidst its towers an courtyards and many of its stones in great heaps, Beng Mealea is relatively less visited among the temples of Siem Reap due to its distance from the city (approximately 65 kms.). Perhaps because of this and the fact that we practically had it to ourselves during our visit it has become the family favorite among the many temples we visited.
