In the Bernard Langer Is The Ultimate PGA Professional video we take a closer look at how Bernhard Langer has stayed so consistent.
These days, it's common to see young golfers hitting the gym to lift weights and work their hearts out on the treadmill, but back when 15-year-old Langer went pro in 1972, nobody cared about physical training. There was more emphasis on the technical and mental sides of the game. It was enough to get the strokes right and win championships, and did those men know how to win?
The '80s and '90s were very competitive times in golf. Langer had to fight off fellow legends Nick Faldo, Seve Ballesteros, Tom Watson, Lee Trevino… yeah, the entire Hall of Fame. The contest was especially tough with his rivals on the European Tour where he won 43 times to become the second most prolific player in the Tour's history.
