After spending 5 days exploring Tangier, I took a shared taxi to Chefchaouen!! This is one of the most well know and famous places in all of Morocco, and for good reason! The entire old medina is blue. Yes. It's all blue! Anytime you google this place or check out the instagram tag, all you see blue!
Unfortunately, so many of the most striking picture you see are not realistic, and have been edited so much that some people are actually disappointed when they see the true colour of the real medina. But go into it with no expectations and you will have your mind blown!!
I had been obsessed with seeing this place with my own two eyes for years now! So I was insanely excited to finally be heading there to explore and get lost in the twisty turning ancient streets. I just love a medina. And this is probably the most beautiful one I've ever seen.
I stayed for 3 nights since it's a smaller town and I figured that's all the time I would need there. But once I arrived I regretted not staying a full week! It has such a great feel to the town. The people are incredibly friendly and happy to help you find your way (and not in the "I'm not a guide but I'm really a guide now pay me" type of way I found nearly everywhere else in Morocco). This is truly a magical place.
