Premier Danny Williams says workers are the primary concern of government. Williams says Cabinet was briefed on the issues surrounding workers and their families in the industry. It was decided if the shrimp industry does not take place this year the province will step up with assistance. No details on the type of assistance was revealed. Fisheries Minister Tom Hedderson and officials are monitoring the situation and ideally would like to work with the feds to offer assistance.
