When mixing live, it's sometimes nice to have delay, but for a very smooth mix, try delaying when you add the delay!! Add the delay after the attack of the last word, and mix it smoothly into the mix (slow and not too loud). The FORMULA for matching the delay to the BPM (if you don't have a BPM app) is to count the number of beats in 7.5 seconds, times that by 8, then divide 60,000 by your answer, for example:
15 beats in 7.5 secs, x 8 = 120, 60,000/120 = 500ms delay time to match to the beat.
