Afghanistan's ambassador to the United Nations told the UN Security Council on Monday that people in Kabul are "living in absolute fear."

Ambassador Ghulam Isaczai, urged the UN's highest body to help establish a humanitarian corridor to get people out of Afghanistan and to help get humanitarian aid in.

He warned that the gains that woman and girls have made in the 20-years since the Taliban last held power are at risk of being lost.
