A Phenotype is the physical expression of an organisms genotype. It is the collection of observable characteristics determined by the organism's genetic makeup. Not all genes contribute directly to distinct phenotypes, but all phenotypes are linked to a organism's genotype. Phenotypes can be influenced by the alleles present at more than one genetic locus as well as by environmental factors.
