The Rangers very rarely beat the Atlanta Flames at home or on the road. It was just a simple fact, the Flames gave the rangers fits.
No matter how much of a talent difference on the ice there was Dan Bouchard and his fellow teamates flat out owned the New York Rangers.
It all came to a screeching halt when the Rangers beat them handidly in the 1980 playoffs. Another reason the Atlanta Flames curse ceased to exist with the Rangers is that the Flames after this series moved to Calgary and became the Calgary Flames.
This particular video has some very interesting hi-lites. Ed Hospodar's first NHL goal, a stick swinging incident between Phil Esposito and the aforementioned Bouchard.
It also has a weird technical glitch where the audio is starts off with the Atlanta Flames announcers, then after about a minute or so the familar voices of Jim Gordon and Bill Chadwick take over.
