During the weekends, (M) Trains operate with 4 Cars instead of 8 Cars due to the line being shortened to run between Metropolitan Avenue & Essex Street. Despite this, (M) Trains during the weekend are often still packed, with service continuing North into Queens results into transferring to the overcrowded (F) Train.
