Hundreds hit the streets of Henan Province in China protesting against rural banks for freezing savings of depositors. This is the first such protest in China since the pandemic began. Depositors said the banks had frozen their deposits because of supposed upgrades to their internal systems, but had not been in communication since. Protesters waved banners and raised slogans against authorities who have allegedly frozen almost $6 billion. However, authorities have assured that they will address the issue shortly.
