An American two-star general has been killed in Afghanistan... after a man wearing Afghan army garb opened fire on a NATO squad at a training center in Kabul Tuesday.
15 others were wounded... among them local army officers, American troops and a German brigadier general.
The U.S. general is the most senior American officer to die in Afghanistan since 9/11.
A spokesman for Afghanistan's Defense Ministry said the shooter... a quote-"terrorist"... had been shot and killed, but offered no motive for the strike.
The suspected insider attack left soldiers tense, and underlined the challenges still remaining in preparing Afghanistan for western troop withdrawals.
