It was the coolest craziest most high- tech supercar of its generation, the McLaren F1 GTR is an icon, a dream car! I raced one at Le Mans in 1995 and finished third overall with my father Derek Bell and Andy Wallace. It was a highlight of my life. Now thanks to BMW North America I get to drive their 1996 version at Mid Ohio on a private test day. But while I waited for the rain to dry the track I thought I would share a private moment just sitting inside this amazing race car. Things I hadn't noticed before and some that made me time travel back to the big race. I hope you enjoy this inside glimpse of something that not many people will ever see in a lifetime. JB
