Hopefully, useful for (i) preliminary modelling, analysis and design, (ii) getting a feel for the way a structure behaves and (iii) sense checking computer calcs.
These are APPROXIMATE calculations which are hopefully enough to help structural engineers to understand the way that a framed structure behaves and the ways that loads are transferred from point of application to supports.
