So the Flat Track and Speedway Motorbike Racing Hot Shoe went out to have the hard facing put on and came back looking like a banana. It's time to do some repair work! The Hot shoe had deformed due to the welding heat from applying the hard surfacing. Due to the thickness of the hard surfacing on the shoe of the hot shoe it required the liberal application of heat to form it back to it's original shape. I started out with the Oxy Acetylene torch ... that ran out of oxygen, so out to the forge it went ... That ran out of charcoal ... Lets just say this hot shoe repair turned out to be quite a big job! I ended up having to cut the heal out of the hot shoe and extend the shoe to get the motorbike boot to fit. Then came the job of grinding out all of the forging marks and polishing it back to it's original surface finish. Let the Flat Track and Speedway Motorbike Racing Hot Shoe Repair begin!
